Surrender

Life was never asking us

to be happy all the time.

It was asking us

to be here.

To feel the full weather of it —

the sun-warmed laughter

,

the sudden storms,

the quiet gray mornings

where nothing feels certain.

Joy arrives like birdsong —

unexpected, bright, impossible to hold.

Sorrow moves in like tide —

steady, humbling, reshaping the shore.

And we, miraculous hearts that we are,

are built for both.

What a gift

to feel so much.

To love so deeply

that it aches.

To stand in wonder

so wide it brings us to tears.

This life is not a straight line upward.

It is a river —

wild in places,

gentle in others,

always moving toward something

we cannot fully see.

We are not here to control the current.

We are here to learn its rhythm.

To loosen our grip.

To trust the turning.

To say yes to the rising

and yes to the falling.

Because every moment —

bright or breaking —

is part of the great unfolding.

And when we surrender

not in defeat,

but in devotion —

we discover

that even as everything changes,

We are carried.
