Myth to Mat - The birth of Ganesha 'At the threshold'
Sun 16 Aug
|Lincoln
We're all standing at a doorway — the thing we keep meaning to start. Ganesha's story teaches that the obstacle is the doorway, and on the mat we practise crossing it: grounded, steady, and braver than we arrived.

About the event
“The Birth of Ganesha - 'At theThreshold'
A Yoga & Myth Workshop on Obstacles we face and the doorway into our next chapter
Every one of us is standing at a threshold — the class we keep meaning to try, the conversation we keep putting off, the change we keep waiting to feel ready for. In India, every journey and every new beginning starts by greeting one god first: Ganesha, the elephant-headed lord of thresholds and remover of obstacles.
In this Myth to Mat workshop we'll share this great Hindu myth — how a boy shaped at a doorway by the goddess Parvati lost everything at that same door, and was remade wiser, gentler and more whole than before. It's a story about the obstacles in our path, and how the very thing that blocks the way can become the way.
